The Story Behind Our Public Programs
Creating nearly 250 free public programs on an annual basis is no easy feat. Top-notch staff need to coordinate logistics and planning, then seek out musicians, community and cultural partners, artists, and more. But even before that, it takes philanthropic partners to make it all possible. With so many programs throughout the year, Navy Pier creates multiple engagement opportunities for donors and partners of all types.
The generosity of individuals, foundations, and corporations helps Navy Pier present its one-of-a-kind programs. Without the support of generous funders and individuals alike, the Pier would not be able to deliver the dynamic and eclectic experiences you know and love. Partners have ranged from individuals like you, who provide contributions on Giving Tuesday or at events like Cheer at the Pier, to national corporations such as Xfinity, Allstate, and Lifeway, to local partners including the Polk Bros. Foundation and the IBEW Local 134.
One of the great things about Navy Pier’s mission to bring the Pier to life with free year-round programming, is that it provides avenues for partners of all sizes to make an impact. Without these partners and supporters, Navy Pier could never be the cultural destination you see today.
Whether you come to take in live music with a view while enjoying a cold beer in the Beer Garden, a movie in the park at our weekly Water Flicks, or just hope to enjoy some public art, Navy Pier is home to more than you imagine.
