A Chicago ExPIERience will reflect on the 1995 redevelopment of Navy Pier and celebrate the economic and cultural impact it has had on our community over the past century.
The night will honor the leadership, influence, and innovation of Mayor Richard M. Daley who championed this transformation and once again made Navy Pier the heart of the Chicago experience.

Chicago’s Mayor from 1989-2011, Richard M. Daley transformed Chicago into a “world-class city” and set the stage for the Navy Pier of today: a global destination, welcoming all and inspiring discovery and wonder. His bold leadership was the driving force behind transforming Navy Pier into a first-rate civic space and a resource for our community. We are honored to have the opportunity to recognize Mayor Daley’s dedication, strategic vision, and determination in celebration of the 30th anniversary of this pivotal moment in the Pier’s history.
