More than 10,000 free Centennial Wheel and Fifth Third Bank Winter WonderFest tickets awarded to Chicagoland nonprofits in honor of Navy Pier’s 102nd anniversary
CHICAGO – In honor of Navy Pier’s 102nd anniversary on July 15, Chicago’s mission-driven lakefront destination has announced the recipients of its annual Community Rides program, an initiative designed to provide underserved communities accessibility to special experiences at the Pier. Following a month-long application and review process, 102 local nonprofit organizations have been selected and awarded the opportunity to offer their community members complimentary rides on the iconic Centennial Wheel or free access to the popular Fifth Third Bank Winter WonderFest, Navy Pier’s marquee winter event.
Each recipient will be provided with up to 102 complimentary tickets to experience the Centennial Wheel or Fifth Third Bank Winter WonderFest, totaling more than 10,000 free tickets issued to the community. The Centennial Wheel tickets are valid through May 31, 2019, while Fifth Third Bank Winter WonderFest tickets are valid through the duration of the event (from November 30, 2018 to January 6, 2019). The list of this year’s recipients is available on the Navy Pier website.
The Community Rides program is a shining example of Navy Pier’s ongoing commitment to its mission and values, as the organization strives to establish and nurture meaningful partnerships with other nonprofits, offer unique opportunities and experiences to underserved communities, and remain an accessible place for all.
