Make a big splash in a squirting, pumping water playground (raincoats provided!). Tinker with real tools and materials in the ultimate DIY maker-space. Dress up as a firefighter, drive the truck and put out a “fire.” Paint, print, sew, sketch and sculpt in an authentic art studio. Construct a skyscraper, fish in a river, shop in a grocery store and much more. Chicago Children’s Museum is three floors of fun for kids and their families!
MOEN Presents Water City – Now Open!
Water is life. Every living thing needs water to survive. Water is inherently dynamic. It provides endless ways to explore and learn—from the way it moves, behaves, and changes states, to lessons in conservation. Water is the perfect plaything. In the new Water City experience, children of all ages and abilities can determine their own experiments, narratives, sensory experiences, and explorations of the physical properties of water. Together with MOEN, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, IFF, and the Pritzker Pucker Family Foundation, Water City connects water play and STEM experiences for the next generation of young explorers and their families.

Zoom Room returns on April 21, 2023!
Get ready for high-octane fun! Zoom Room puts kids in the driver’s seat as they send toy cars hurtling through the curves, loops, dips, and crash sites of a colossal, multilevel racecourse. One of Chicago Children’s Museum’s most beloved temporary exhibits, Zoom Room features hundreds of toy cars and more than 40 tracks of every length, height, and angle, including two bi-level crash courses. It’s the ultimate toy car experience— for children — and adults.
Children learn best with hands-on experience and Zoom Room provides just the ‘laboratory’ to experiment with speed, distance, force, elevation, and acceleration. Littles will see how the twists and turns of a 20-foot-long track impact a car’s speed and distance; discover which combination of force and elevation makes for the longest jump; predict how friction and track shape affect acceleration.
Zoom Room features:
– More than 40 tracks, up to 20-feet long and 12-feet high
– Hundreds of toy cars in all shapes and sizes
– Loops, jumps, dips and drops—and ramps you can manipulate yourself
– Giant, bi-level crash sites
– Opportunities to test, race and challenge your friends
