Chicago Navy Week at Navy Pier
August 9-11, 2024
11AM-8PM | FREE
Chicago Navy Week at Navy Pier is an opportunity to learn more about your U.S. Navy.
Join us for daily activities Friday, August 9th through Sunday, August 11th, with a special performance from the Liberty Calls Brass Band at 2PM on Friday at the Wave Wall Stage and a second free performance at the Lake Stage in Polk Bros Park featuring Navy Band Great Lakes’ Wind Ensemble at 6:30PM.
Whether you’re interested in history and want to get an inside look of life aboard the oldest U.S. Navy active-duty warship, USS Constitution, or want to dive into the history of the American Sailor and the Navy’s tie to Chicago, we have just the people for you to meet!
Sailors from our Fleet Weather Center will be available to answer questions pertaining to how our Sailors determine the weather predictions necessary to ensure our ships are safe at sea.
If you’re a Vietnam veteran, we have a special group of people we want you to meet. Our Vietnam War Commemoration wants to recognize and honor your service to our nation and welcome you home. Additionally, we’ll have representatives from the U.S. Naval Academy, the Navy’s local legal service office, and Naval Submarine League to share more information about their organizations.
The Navy’s virtual reality trailer will be available to put yourself in the shoes of a U.S. Navy Sailor or you can even take on a physical challenge with our naval special warfare team and local recruiters. There will be plenty of laughter, fun, and Navy swag!
