Dog Days of Summer

Here at Navy Pier, there is no better way to enjoy the dog days of summer than with your favorite furry friend. Check out these dog-friendly spots across the Pier and grab your pup for a fun summer day at Chicago’s favorite lakefront destination.

Stroll on the South Dock Promenade

Upgrade your daily walk at Navy Pier’s South Dock, the acclaimed pedestrian boardwalk. At 2,000 feet long, the dock runs west to east and connect guests (and their dogs) to restaurants, attractions and more. You and your dog are sure to enjoy the scenic Lake Michigan views and people watching! Dogs are also welcome throughout the Pier’s public park spaces, including Polk Bros Park and Pier Park. To note, only service animals are welcome on the Centennial Wheel. Instagram – photo credit: @tinkerbellethedog

Dog-Friendly Dining & Patios

A variety of dining spots at the Pier offer dog-friendly patios, such as Billy Goat Tavern, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Harry Caray’s Tavern, Miller Lite Beer Garden and Riva Crabhouse at the alfresco Riva Café. Don’t let a day with your dog get in the way of enjoying a delicious meal!

Pet-Friendly Cruising

Take in the views of Chicago and Lake Michigan and experience a fun-filled boat cruise with your dog. Pet-friendly cruises include the exciting Seadog Cruises, where dogs are welcome and can cruise for free. The only requirements are that the pooches are leashed and friendly! To note, certain restrictions apply. Leashed dogs are also welcome on all Shoreline Sightseeing tours.
