Leading contemporary and modern art galleries return to Navy Pier’s Festival Hall for EXPO CHICAGO, showcasing exceptional works from established and emerging artists. The fair features a curated program of talks, special sections, and on-site installations, offering guests meaningful engagement with today’s global art landscape.
Grounded in Chicago’s legacy as an international cultural destination, EXPO CHICAGO highlights the region’s vibrant contemporary arts community while connecting it to global perspectives. Through collaboration with artists, curators, and cultural institutions, the fair positions Chicago as a premier destination for contemporary art, ideas, and exchange.
Galleries
Leading international galleries anchor the fair, alongside an expanded partnership with the forthcoming Obama Presidential Center. Embodiment, curated by Dr. Louise Bernard, draws inspiration from the Center’s architecture and commissioned artists ahead of its 2026 opening.
FOCUS
Highlighting emerging galleries 12 years old or younger, Focus is curated by Katie A. Pfohl of the Detroit Institute of Arts. Titled Gathering of Waters, the section explores landscape, migration, and care through artists connected to the Mississippi River Basin and the African, Latin American, and Caribbean diasporas.
PROFILE
Profile features solo presentations and focused projects from established international galleries. Curated by Essence Harden, the section builds on EXPO CHICAGO’s institutional relationships, emphasizing rigorous practice and sustained scholarly engagement.
