What began as a whimsical idea has become a favorite event among Chicago’s A+D and CRE communities. Originally hosted by Interior Investments and now sponsored by Continua Interiors, the Aeron Hockey Tournament brings together top organizations for friendly competition and generosity. Teams race around Navy Pier’s Grand Ballroom on Aeron chairs, battling for victory and year-long bragging rights.
Regardless of which team lifts the tournament trophy, the true champions are the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois. The funds generated from this event are specifically designated for the Special Olympics Illinois State Floor Hockey Tournament, held every November in Chicago. So far, Continua’s Aeron Office Chair Hockey Tournament has raised over $700,000, thanks to the generosity of participating teams, spectators, and an extensive list of sponsors, including numerous furniture manufacturers, vendors, and subcontractors.
