Celebrate Women’s Month with a workshop led by the artists of Women’s LIVE Artist Studio. This event is inspired by the contributions of women in history. Choose from the supply of coloring book pages, posters and prints to create a mixed-media piece that tells your story!

This Women’s Month workshop celebrates the impact of women in art while empowering participants to share their own stories. Led by WLAS artist Jennifer Hodges, it invites creativity and connection through mixed-media art, inspiring appreciation for women’s voices and legacies.

Families are invited to join this Botanical Garden inspired painting workshop hosted by the artists of the Women’s LIVE Artist Studio. This is the first of two Sessions where guests will create a canvas inspired by our connection to nature. ALL MATERIALS are included. Guests will walk away with their own personally painted canvas.

This workshop is important to Chicago and Navy Pier as it offers families a creative space to connect with nature through art, fostering an appreciation for the city’s green spaces and cultural vibrancy. By engaging participants of all ages in hands-on painting, it strengthens family bonds, encourages artistic expression, and highlights the value of sustainability and our relationship with the natural world. Celebrate the remarkable contributions of living Chicago Black women in Giving Her Her Flowers, a workshop inspired by the Navy Pier exhibition curated by Dana Todd Pope. Participants will create meaningful art pieces that honor and express gratitude for the powerful women shaping their communities today.

This workshop is important because it provides a space to reflect on and celebrate the incredible impact of Black women in Chicago who are shaping their communities through strength, creativity, and leadership. By creating art inspired by their contributions, participants engage in a meaningful act of recognition, ensuring their stories are acknowledged and appreciated.
