Now live at Navy Pier, this unique morning series transforms the start of your day into an artistic and energizing journey, pairing coffee culture with the art of hip hop sampling inside a welcoming coworking space created especially for the work from home crowd. Streaming live from the Local Soul kiosk at Navy Pier, Coffee Breaks turns your typical workday into something more intentional and inspiring. Settle in with your laptop, take meetings, or simply vibe out while enjoying live DJ sets that blend productivity with creativity and community.

Event Details

Each session features Boi Jeanius as your sound selector, guiding listeners through the roots of hip hop and exploring how samples from the past shape the music of today. This is not just background music, it is an audible art display that celebrates the connections between sound, math, memory, and culture.

Coffee is provided by Kribi Coffee Co., a Black owned coffee company founded in 2014 and headquartered in Forest Park, Illinois. Kribi is committed to sustainable coffee roasting, offering in store roasting, green coffee sourcing, and wholesale and white label services. Their signature air roasting process uses 100 percent electric energy, creating a cleaner, more sustainable cup that tastes as good as it feels.

We are also partnering with Chef Art Smith’s Reunion to serve Kribi coffee alongside breakfast bites and lunch options available for purchase, making it easy to fuel your morning and stay for the day. Coffee Breaks is more than a cup of coffee or a DJ set. It is a space to gather, connect, and create.
