Water Colors
Bebop Exchange

6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Free and open to the public!

Bebop, a style of jazz developed in the early to mid-1940s in the United States, features songs characterized by a fast tempo, complex chord progressions with rapid chord changes and numerous changes of key, instrumental virtuosity, and improvisation based on a combination of harmonic structure, the use of scales and occasional references to the melody.  Some of Chicago’s bebop masters hit the stage with this edition of the series.  Scheduled musicians include Chicago Tribune’s 2018 Chicagoan of the Year, saxophonist Ari Brown; guitarist George Freeman; Isaiah Collier (saxophone); bassist Jeremiah Hunt; and Jeremiah Collier on drums.
