The Ursa Ensemble is a Chicago-based chamber music ensemble that seeks to present uncommon music to our audiences in unique ways, in unconventional places, and with individual interpretations. The Ursa Ensemble is currently in its fifth official season, and has performed at a variety of locations across the Midwest including Constellation Chicago, Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park, The Green Mill Jazz Lounge, DePaul University School of Music, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, the DANK Haus, Tavern of Fine Arts, The Musical Offering, Uncommon Ground, PianoForte Studios, and the Narloch Piano Studio. Lamajamal, a palindrome for jamal, the Arabic word for beauty, is an ensemble that performs classical, folk, and sacred music traditions from around the world. With each member trained in various musical styles and instruments, the group has an extensive repertoire from the Middle East, North Africa, Balkans, Turkey, Greece, and Kashmir. For nearly fifteen years, Lamajamal has established itself as a vanguard in the world music market performing at international festivals, renowned venues, interfaith events, as well as houses of worship for Jewish, Christian, and Muslim services. The group has produced five albums and was voted as one of the top world music groups by the Chicago Reader two years in a row. Visit Website

Free Write Sound & Vision provides full-service sound reinforcement and production support for all sizes and styles of events. Unlike similar services, Free Write S&V is committed to social justice and employment equity in the arts industry. We hire and train alumni of Free Write Arts & Literacy and other young adults with barriers to employment. Presented by Paul M. Angell Family Foundation, Sequence Ch!cago is a free performance series celebrating local artists, musicians and cultural organizations and showcasing their works. Navy Pier will display Chicago’s diverse arts scene over the course of 9 dates this fall and winter. All performances are free and open to the public.
