Free and open to the public! Come join us for LatiNxt Presented by Xfinity, Navy Pier’s second annual celebration of Latin music, featuring local, national and international artists who are exploring new ways of connecting traditional Latin music with modern sounds.
*The festival will be hosted by MCs Logan Lu and Pinqy Ring.
As first and second generation Latinos form new cultural identities, their creative melting pot of ideas and innovation continues to shape the global music community, despite its development in the margins of the larger US music market.
To the same extent throughout Latin America, increased access to technology has allowed for growing world-wide collaborations, as well as continual transformations in the arts. This, in turn, has created flourishing spaces that celebrate the culture of the past with the possibilities of the future.
LatiNxt explores the music that emerges from these cultural dichotomies and through performance and exchange, strengthens connections, increases exposure and champions a more robust discourse between pioneering Latino artists across the Americas. The LatiNxt Festival is co-curated by Future Rootz, a collective of Latinx music curators, artists, taste-makers, and socio-cultural instigators.
