Free live music in the Miller Lite Beer Garden at Navy Pier featuring Amada, DJ Papa G, and Ugochi.

Free live music in the Miller Lite Beer Garden will feature local favorites, national touring acts and exciting new artists all summer long.

On Saturdays, guests will be treated to an exciting variety of acts performing across all genres of popular music, all day long.

About this Series: Live on the Lake!

This free, all ages concert is presented as part of Live on the Lake!, Navy Pier's free summer music series in the Miller Lite Beer Garden.

August 23 | Performance Schedule

Amada | 2:00pm-3:00pm & 3:30pm - 4:30pm

"Chicago-based Brazilian drummer and percussionist Luiz Ewerling has founded Amada - a band that divines a unique blending of Brazilian and American musical styles, ranging from Brazilian Pop to Rock, from Samba to Swing, from the free flowing pulse of the Partido Alto to contemporary Jazz.

Together with Ana Munteanu, Luciano Antonio, Eric Woody and Geoffrey Lowe, Ewerling makes Amada about groove, harmony and music euphoria that moves one’s heart."

Ugochi | 5:30pm - 6:30pm & 7:00pm - 8:00pm

Ugochi’s sound has been described as “lively, energetic music that makes your feet move and heart think." Ugochi has written poems that have been honored by internationally renowned organizations like Black Theatre Ensemble in Chicago and Apples and Snakes in the UK . She has also shared the stage with established artists such as Common, Eric Benet, John Legend, Femi Kuti, Edwin McCain, Maxi Priest, Malik Yusef, Umphrey’s McGee, J. Ivy, Luciano, Shaggy, Wayna, Tony Allen, Fatoumata Diawara, Bassekou Kouyate, Wayne Wonder and Stephen Marley and Toots and the Maytals. Chicago Music Awards classified her as "Best African Entertainer 2005." Her musical reverberation, part Afrobeat and part Chi-town soul has been cleverly coined Afro-Soul.
