A feature of the Chicago International Puppet Theater Festival, The Table follows an animated puppet with a witty personality as he narrates the biblical story of Moses. Short Shakespeare! Macbeth
Take a popular Shakespeare play about politics, ambition and tragedy condensed into 75-minutes and you’ve got yourself Short Shakespeare! Macbeth. Adapted and directed by Kirsten Kelly, the supernatural comes to life on stage Saturdays at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. from January 17 through February 14. Hang around after the performance for question-and-answer sessions with the actors!
Neighborhoods of the World presented by ComEd
You don’t have to stray too far from home to experience cultures from around the world. A rich melting pot of diversity, Chicago is a culturally rich city worth exploring. Neighborhoods of the World presented by ComEd runs from February 8 through March 29 and features a glimpse at the many different customs, music, food and more of ethnic groups within this city that make it so unique.
From February 7-8, Snow Days Chicago will breathe life into the wintery Polk Bros Park. Fifteen international professional sculpting teams will compete as they carve 10-foot blocks of snow into beautiful designs. Other activities for the family will include an interactive snowboarding experience, outdoor kid activities, special appearance by the Magellanic penguins from Shedd Aquarium and their interactive Polar Play Zone and more. And best of all, it’s free!
