Cultural Celebrations at Neighborhoods of the World

For eight weeks starting in February 8, Navy Pier celebrates Chicago’s diverse cultures with the performance series Neighborhoods of the World presented by ComEd.  Come discover new cultures and celebrate your own through this special cultural gathering and revel in an afternoon of folk music, delicious cuisine, creative crafts, traditional clothing, and festive traditions. Neighborhoods of the World presented by ComEd  is free and  takes place on Sundays from February 8 to March 29, noon – 3 p.m. Visit the Neighborhoods of the World gallery to see all the fun we’ve had in the past!

The 2015 Neighborhoods of the World presented by ComEd series features:

Celebrate Italy

Although we can’t bring the breathtaking Italian views, we can recreate traditional Italian dishes and dances for a big Italian celebration. Celebrate Italy will take place on February 8.

Celebrate Amazing India

Discover the rich Indo- American and Indian culture on February 15.  Indian traditions, activities, and more are in store!

Celebrate Africa and Black History Month

February is the official Black History Month. Learn about the historical African culture and get inspired by African dances and food! Celebrate the African culture and Black History Month this February 22.

Celebrate China and the Chinese New Year

The upcoming Chinese New Year is the year of the goat. Come explore the colorful Chinese culture on March 1.
