The holidays have passed and the winter weather is making its presence known…two of the biggest reasons we find home to be the most enjoyable place to be. Now that winter is officially here, it’s reason to want to hibernate indoors and shy away from physical activity.
But Chicago Children’s Museum at Navy Pier wants to put a stop to that thinking. Come outdoors and “Move It!” at this new, high-energy exhibit designed for kids of all ages and their parents to engage in movement of all kinds – jumping, crawling, bending, leaping, and running – in order to promote a healthy lifestyle. Move It! takes it one step further and goes beyond getting the blood pumping for the little ones. The dynamic playground offers components that require kids to use both their mind as well as their body, through problem-solving and communications skills.
The basis of Move It! is the simple science that the movement of the body builds the brain. What better way to do so than through simultaneous fun and learning! The playground also has similar benefits for parents: it encourages them to get up and active too! So get up, get out, and move it on over to Navy Pier and Chicago Children’s Museum! Move It! is open January 16 through April 19 and included with admission to Chicago’s Children’s Museum. The museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Thursdays is free from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
