Memorial Day marks the start of summer, and now is the time to begin planning a weekend of fun and celebration. Look no further than Navy Pier, Chicago’s iconic lakefront destination, for an unforgettable holiday weekend. From live music and delicious dining to lakefront views and stunning fireworks, grab your friends, family and loved ones and ring in the start of summer at the Pier!
The popular live concert series hosted at the Miller Lite Beer Garden begins Friday, May 24, and continues every Saturday and Sunday, as well as other select dates, through Labor Day. With an exciting roster of musicians at the beautiful lakeside venue, guests will enjoy the following line-up this Memorial Day weekend:
Returning for its second year, Wave Wall Wax is the Pier’s live DJ series held at the Wave Wall Performance Platform and offered every Saturday from May 25 through August 31. The live music program brings the city’s incredible DJ culture to the lakefront from 4 – 6 p.m. each week. Kicking off the series on Saturday, May 25 is DJ Milty Evans live on air with Vocalo Radio.
Rounding out the three-part summer kick-off events is Navy Pier’s signature Aon Summer Fireworks, which will return to the Chicago night sky every Wednesday and Saturday from Saturday, May 25 through Saturday, August 31. A local favorite, the Pier’s iconic fireworks series is a bi-weekly 10-minute spectacle along the lakefront, perfectly synchronized to fun and festive music playlists each night.
From casual counter service restaurants and sit-down restaurants to seasonal kiosks, you’ll find crave-worthy snacks, meals, desserts and drinks at Navy Pier. Grab a cone from new spot Frio Gelato, featuring classic Argentinian gelato and sorbet, or indulge with fresh seafood, steaks and pasta at Riva Crabhouse.
