The temps may be dropping but that doesn’t mean we’re slowing down over here at the Pier. In fact, activity is speeding up as runners prepare to make their way out for Chicago’s Perfect 10! Running? In November? You bet your bottom dollar. Zip up your fleece and lace up those sneakers ‘cause it’s time to take in some breathtaking views with a race through the city.
On Saturday, November 8, participants will line up at the East End of Navy Pier before beginning either a 10K or 10-mile route throughout Chicago. The lakefront course will get runners up-close and personal with some of the city’s most notable landmarks such as Grant Park, Buckingham Fountain, the Field Museum and Soldier Field before ending back at Navy Pier where it all began. Athletes will receive a Spinning Finishers Medal, personalized bib, a commemorative long-sleeve shirt, complimentary adult beverages to those of age, and more!
Registration is still open for both the 10K and 10-Mile course and discounted options for both courses are also available for children 13 and under, as well as a special discount Navy Pier has provided to its followers (see coupon below). Proceeds from the race will go to Team Demand and Gateway for Cancer Research, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of those living with cancer today and eliminating the existence of cancer in the future. For more information on race times, packet pick-up, sponsors, course maps and more, check out Chicago’s Perfect 10 website here.
Work off all that Halloween candy and come on out for one of the last outdoor events of the Chicago running season! We can’t wait to see you at the finish line.
