Happy (almost) New Year, Navy Pier fans! Who’s ready to welcome 2013? You can bet we are!
We’ve had a marvelous 2012, but we’re always ready for the next big thing and 2013 already looks like it’s going to be a whole lot of fun!
To send off the old year, the Pier’s hosting two huge New Year’s Eve bashes, one in the Grand Ballroom and the other in the Crystal Gardens, and is lighting off two fireworks displays. The first, our Family Fireworks Show, will start at 7 p.m., and the second will begin at the stroke of midnight! We hope you’re planning on joining us tonight!
This next week concludes our 12th annual Winter WonderFest at Navy Pier presented by Bank of America! We’ve had a blast watching all our great fans and their families try out our rides and skating rink and hope everyone who joined us had the very best time!
January 25-27 marks the return of our popular Snow Days Chicago event! If you’ve never been, it’s a weekend you won’t want to miss with an amazing snow sculpture contest and wintery outdoor activities.
At the end of February, Neighborhoods of the World, a seven-week cultural event begins! As in years past, every Sunday will feature the cultural offerings of a Chicago ethnic community! One of the best parts about this event: entrance is completely free and visitors can expect to enjoy food, unique art, music, and dance!
Of course we can’t forget to mention the big Chicago Flower & Garden Show, running March 9-17. This year’s theme is “The Art of Gardening” and will include over 25 marvelous gardens filled with the best blooms in the Midwest.
Looking even further into the New Year, we’ll be hosting Coffee Fest Chicago 2013 in June for all the caffeine addicts out there, lots of outdoor entertainment all summer long, and we’re bringing back the historic Tall Ships experience in August!
This is only a small sample of everything in store at the Pier for 2013! It’s going to be a great year and we hope you’ll join us!
