Looking for a weekend of family fun that won’t break the budget? Navy Pier has all the elements for a day overflowing with activity!
Parking at the Pier is easy and convenient with two garages directly connected to the Pier itself. Better yet, now through March 31, you can park for just $15 Monday – Thursday and for $20 on Friday – Sunday with discount parking rates, no validation necessary! Or, consider a commute aboard the CTA with bus service directly from Metra and El stops straight to Navy Pier.
Once you’ve arrived,, this 50-acre lakeside landmark is an endless playground. Browse the unique shops, stroll down the dock, and maybe treat yourself to a souvenir! If you come on a Sunday through March, we’d suggest attending Neighborhoods of the World presented by ComEd, a free event highlighting a new culture every Sunday in the Crystal Gardens.
Chicago Children’s Museum lets imaginations run wild with exhibits that range from tinkering in a toy lab to digging for dinosaur fossils. Explore three floors of fun for the whole family and on the first Sunday of the month, children under 15 receive free admission! Better yet, on Target Free Family Nights, the whole crew can visit for free on Thursdays from 5 – 8 p.m.
Re-energize with a lunch break. Two hot places to eat right now are inside Navy Pier’s new food experience at Lettuce Entertain You’s Frankie’s Pizza by the Slice and Big Bowl Chinese Express. Navy Pier features a plethora of other restaurants as well, so there’s definitely something for everyone’s tastes.
After you’ve dined, the perfect way to end the day is with a spin around the Ferris Wheel. There’s definitely no bad time to take a ride, but how about as the sun is setting on a long, eventful day? Buy your tickets in advance and share your bird’s eye view pics with us on Instagram @NavyPier.
Now, the only question is…when’s your next visit?
