Things to do this Easter Weekend at Navy Pier

Navy Pier is the perfect spot for the whole family to share a festive Easter Sunday. Whether it’s a brunch cruise aboard the Odyssey or the Spirit of Chicago on Lake Michigan, an encounter with free and engaging art for all to enjoy, or just a casual afternoon stroll with a beer, Navy Pier has activities to make anyone’s Easter Sunday ideal.

Ride the Centennial Wheel

Nakamol, owner of Nakamol Chicago at Navy Pier

No trip to Navy Pier is quite complete without a ride on the Centennial Wheel. Climb nearly 200 feet into the sky and enjoy stunning, one-of-a-kind views of the city skyline and Lake Michigan from enclosed, climate-controlled gondolas.

Activate LOOP

Nakamol, owner of Nakamol Chicago at Navy Pier

Take a spin on LOOP, a FREE public art installation in Polk Bros Park. Similar to a zoetrope, one of modern film’s early predecessors, guests can get inside and row each of the twelve different pieces into motion. With every stroke, beautiful images whir about guests and turn still images into moving pictures right before their very eyes.

Discover Ivan Navarro’s “This Land is Your Land” Art Installation

An image that has been a part of the upper realms of Chicago’s landscape comes “down to earth” to Polk Bros Park. Three hauntingly beautiful water towers are transformed as sculptural objects with neon interiors. Viewers are invited to stand beneath them and gaze above for an enlightening experience.

Witness Chakaia Booker’s Four Sculptures

Chakaia Booker: Four Sculptures

It’s the last weekend to see Chakaia Booker’s Four Sculptures before they depart from Navy Pier. Get a closer look at Pass the Buck, Take Out, Shape Shifter, and Gridlock, four abstract sculptures composed from discarded rubber tires salvaged from city streets, auto body shops, and dump sites.
