Chicago might be in the midst of winter, but we at Navy Pier are looking forward to one of the most beloved Chicago spring-time traditions: the Chicago Flower and Garden Show, coming to the Pier March 18 – 26, 2017.
Since 1847, the Chicago Flower and Garden Show has served as one of the biggest flower and garden events, uniting gardeners and gardening enthusiasts from all around the world. This year, the show is inspired by the theme of celebrating Chicago’s many diverse neighborhoods. With over 20 different unique featured gardens prepared by professional vendors, you will be completely immersed into the world of the green thumb via Chicago-style innovation.
Don’t fret, foodies, this event is for you as well. Throughout this weeklong event, you can check out the Mariano’s Garden Gourmet Stage for professional garden-inspired culinary demonstrations and presentations. Sample incredibly tasty recipes made from fresh ingredients. Then take the recipes and techniques home with you to use in your own home garden!
Alongside the gorgeous gardens and fresh food will be seminars and keynote speeches from professional gardeners from around the world. Learn insider tips and tricks from some of the most successful and dedicated gardeners around to make your own garden blossom even more.
Did we mention the Chicago Flower and Garden Show is also very kid-friendly? From interactive gardens to educational workshops, kids will experience hours of hands-on entertainment and education simultaneously. Fun for the entire family!
The Chicago Flower and Garden Show is also home to the annual Chicago Area Retail Bakers Association (CARBA) Cake Decorating Competition. On Sunday, March 20th watch the very best bakers Chicago has to offer go head-to-head in a fiercely creative day of cake decorating. This event alone is a dazzling experience you won’t want to miss.
After experiencing all that this year’s show has to offer, head on over to the expansive Home and Garden Marketplace to purchase all of the equipment and supplies you need to make your garden beautiful. A rich variety of vendors will display products for all types of gardeners, whether you are experienced in the craft or looking to start a garden of your own for the very first time. This marketplace is a hub for all things gardening, placing everything you need right at your fingertips.
Tickets for the show are now available at the Chicago Flower and Garden Show’s website for adult and child one-day passes. Experience the beauty of nature this spring at Navy Pier!
