The Carousel was designed exclusively for Navy Pier. It’s a whimsical work-of-art that recreates the Pier’s golden age of the 1920s when a similar attraction delighted another generation of visitors. The carousel’s 36 hand-painted animals represent the different styles found throughout the history of carousels. Horses, chariots and a playful frog are just a few of the featured characters waiting to carry children of all ages. The hand-painted rounding boards at the top of the 44-foot carousel depict scenes of Navy Pier’s history.
You must be at least 42 inches tall to ride alone or be accompanied by a ticketed adult.
For the total price of $9, ride both the Light Tower and the Carousel in Pier Park! These rides operate late spring through early fall, weather permitting.
Please note: for the safety of our guests and staff, the Carousel and other Pier Park attractions must occasionally close due to weather conditions, such as lightning, high winds, and extreme cold.
