Navy Pier Official Statement Regarding the Novel Coronavirus Disease 2019

As concerns related to the Novel Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) continue to rise across the nation, Navy Pier is maintaining regular contact with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Chicago Public Health and other appropriate local authorities to closely monitor the status of the outbreak, especially in the Chicagoland area.

As always, the safety and well-being of Navy Pier staff, partners and guests is our top priority. We continue to encourage all to remain vigilant and take standard health precautions, such as consistent hand washing, use of hand sanitizers, covering coughs and sneezes, and following other routine hygiene protocols.

While Navy Pier’s standard cleaning procedures are always thorough, our staff has increased attention on the disinfection of high-touch surfaces, such as doorknobs, elevators/escalators and bathrooms, following recommendations from the CDC and local authorities. As an additional measure, 21 hand sanitizer dispensers have been installed across the Pier and can be located here.

Those who are ill or experiencing influenza-like symptoms are advised to stay home and away from public spaces. If you believe you or someone you know may have COVID-19 and/or are exhibiting symptoms, please contact your health care provider to make arrangements for an assessment.

Navy Pier will continue to closely monitor the situation, so that we can quickly make adjustments should the CDC or local authorities recommend different or amended procedures and precautionary measures. For more information on COVID-19, please visit the CDC website or Chicago Public Health website.
